PETER MARK X PUREOLOGY

I took a wee visit down to Peter Mark’s when I was home last month and was able to get a full wash and blow dry using a new range of shampoos and conditioners with zero animal products and cruelty-free.

My experience getting my hair washed with Pureology shampoo was fairly unbelievable I must say. Aisling, my hairdresser who runs the salon was really attentive and explained about what all the different shampoos do and which conditioners work best with which shampoos, she was really informative and will give you loads advice about your hair type and the best way to look after it.

NATURAL INGREDIENTS

There are a lot of natural ingredients including essential oils in these shampoos so they smell really strong. Each formula tackles a certain hair conundrum so the smell you experience will depend on your hair type. What a fun novelty when going to get a wash and blow dry, don’t you think? I particularly loved the eucalyptus one – it reminded me of being in a spa and it invigorated my whole scalp (whatever that means…but it felt good!).

The conditioner was lathered on to me as my hair is very dry, and it too smelled so fresh and delicious. It was a top quality hair washing experience – as it always is in Peter Mark’s with the massage chairs – and the fact that the products used aligned with my values made it all the better.

KAT VON D X BEAUTYLAND

As well as a wash and blow dry, I got myself all dolled up with Tonia from BeautyLand, who provides a make-up service down in Peter Marks as well. This is very handy for us girls who don’t want to have to tackle Saturday afternoon traffic to get from A to B for different appointments.

Tonia has begun stocking make-up from vegan brands like Kat Von D Beauty. Kat Von D make-up is top quality stuff and 100% cruelty free and vegan. See this video of my first time using it. It’s very well pigmented and formulated and so will stick to your face for as long as you decide to party.

VEGAN MAKE-UP LOOKS TO SUIT YOUR NEEDS

I asked for a subtle look, as in, I didn’t want 16 layers of foundations, bronzers and highlighters on my face (the pores! had to think of the pores..!) so if my look is a bit too plain for you, don’t worry! You can definitely get 16 layers of foundation, bronzer and highlighter if that’s what you’re into. Just tell Tonia what you want and she’ll heed your orders.

So far the range of vegan Kat Von D make-up available in BeautyLand includes the foundations, setting powders, some beautiful lipsticks, the Shade & Light eye pallet, plus some primer and eye liners. Tonia will be adding to the range gradually.

So, what are you waiting for, you can finally get your hair and make-up done guilt-free! No animals harmed in the production of your beautifying potions – you’ll have a much better night out because of it I reckon!

  1. Beautiful Amy! So wonderful to know that mainstream places like Peter Mark’s are now offering vegan options! I haven’t had my hair cut in almost two years because I cannot find anywhere (around Dublin area) that uses vegan products. My hair is so damaged and dry now that I actually have mini dreadlocks forming in it every night… birds will be nesting in it soon! Haha, looks like I may have to trek up to Donegal!

    1. Silly me, I thought it was only the Letterkenny Peter Mark that had the Pureology line, looks like all of them do! Woohoo, can’t wait to finally get my hair cut now and not have to have a constant battle with my hair! Thank you again Amy for sharing this! 😀
