Sun, sea, sand, and snowdrops at Ards, Donegal

Sun, sea, sand, and snowdrops at Ards, Donegal

I needed to get some fresh air last Sunday morning and was dying to get to the coast or at least to some open space in nature. I took a notion to try and find a beach that I heard my friend Kellie Marie talk about often enough.

She takes her dog there and I knew it was a stunner from her Snapchat pictures. But by God, on this glorious Sunday, with the sun splitting the rocks, it was on another level! It is one of the most beautiful wee country walks there is in Ireland. You get beaches, you get forest, you get cliffs and the most stunning views of the Atlantic and the other beaches across the water.

Here’s some of the pictures I took (not a photographer or the owner of an actual camera so apologies for the quality but you should still be able to make out how nice it is)….and some random quotes that made me think or nod my head in agreement or laugh…

“Just living is not enough… one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower”.

–Hans Christian Andersen

“A man can live and be healthy without killing animals for food; therefore, if he eats meat, he participates in taking animal life merely for the sake of his appetite.”
